How to get a Waltti travel card with a student discount

You can pay for all local and regional Hämeenlinna bus fares with a Waltti travel card. Here are a few tips for students.

How to get a student discount

  1. Get a valid student card according to HAMK´s instructions.
  2. Visit the Hämeenlinna City Service Point with your student card and photo ID.
  3. If you do not have access to strong authentication, please fill out the student travel card application form. You can find it here: www.hameenlinnanjoukkoliikenne.fi/forms
  4. Take the completed form to HAMK’s student office to have it stamped.
  5. Bring the stamped form to the Hämeenlinna City Service Point.

Good to know

  • A 30-day ticket for Hameenlinna city centre (A-zone) costs 38 € with a student discount.
  • Without the discount, the price is 54 €.
  • You can also load value onto your Waltti card and pay per trip. One trip in the A-zone costs 2.40 € euros.
  • A new Waltti card costs 5 €.
  • There is a 1 € service fee when you buy tickets at the Hämeenlinna City Service Point.
